On 2 March 2020, works commenced on the Kings Parade Upgrade project. The project’s scope of works aim to improve the intersection of Kings Parade, Reibey Street and Crescent Street to enhance safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. The works also aim to address pavement failures along Kings Parade and the rehabilitation of the historic Queen’s Garden. As part of the project, the Boer War Memorial will be relocated to the Remembrance Walk in Anzac Park.

The Council thanks the community whose feedback has been used to finalise the optimum design, following confirmation of access for affected key neighbours.

The final design can be viewed below. More information, including the final design, is available by clicking the green button: Kings Parade Upgrade Project

Construction works will occur for a duration of approximately three months and be substantially completed by the end of May 2020, depending on the weather. At times during the construction works, there will be temporary changes to traffic flow and detours in place. The Council asks that road and pedestrian traffic comply with all traffic management systems in place and thanks you for your cooperation during any interruptions.
