Register now for new jobs in war on coronavirus

Do you need a job? People across the Shire who have lost work because of coronavirus should register with Work for Victoria now.

The State Government has put $500 million into the Working for Victoria Fund will help people who have lost their jobs due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) find new opportunities.

Corangamite Shire Manager Growth and Engagement Rory Neeson said the Government was funding or a wide range of temporary positions to help the community through the pandemic.

“If you’ve lost your income, opportunities may come up that will help you pay the bills, which in turn supports businesses in the Shire during the economic downturn,” Mr Neeson said.

“The Working for Victoria program can get Shire residents earning again, but you need to register to get the jobs.

“You might have skills that can be used straight away, or there might be options for training and accreditation to get you into work quickly.

“This is an opportunity to get paid work helping respond to the coronavirus pandemic and supporting the community.”

When you register you can provide information about your skills, experience, and job preferences.

From there you will start receiving targeted updates about available employment opportunities that match your profile.

Employers will also be able to find you when they are looking for your particular skills.
