Wyndham City Council is pleased to be hosting the Melbourne West Jobs Fair on 27th March to help match employers and jobseekers.

Jobs fairs, an initiative of the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, are held across the country to help match employers with jobseeker.

Future Focused Economy portfolio holder, Cr Walter Villagonzalo, said the event was the ideal place to find suitable candidates for local businesses.

“Employers will have an opportunity to share their insights into specific industries and attract the right employees for their businesses,” Cr Villagonzalo said.

“Jobseekers should come to this free event dressed to impress with printed and digital copies of their resumes to hand out to businesses – and companies are welcome to apply for a free exhibition space at the fair.”

“The fair will include businesses from industries across western Melbourne, including transport, health, aged care and State Government agencies.

“Wyndham City Council will have its own stand at the fair, highlighting the fantastic Council job opportunities on offer.”

“With the establishment of Council’s Social and Economic Inclusion Department last year, Council has been helping local employers to provide employment and training opportunities to residents.”

“More than 60 per cent of Wyndham residents leave the municipality for work every day but we have businesses right here in the West that need additional staff to grow their businesses.”

“We want to be able to offer Wyndham residents the opportunity to work in their municipality, so we are committed to attracting more industries to the City but also pairing local jobs with local residents.”

Melbourne West Jobs Fair will be held at Encore Events Centre, 80 Derrimut Road, Friday 27 March 2020, from 10am to 5pm.
