3 March 2020 - Media release

Campaspe Shire Council’s Community Grants Program is now open, making funds available to support local community groups, clubs and other not-for-profit groups to run special projects and community events.

Mayor Cr Adrian Weston said that a total of up to $107,000 is available in this round to help groups deliver initiatives that encourage local residents to get together, get active and get involved.

“Previous grants have helped groups deliver education, environmental and historical conservation programs, community events, recreational, cultural and artistic pursuits,” Cr Weston said.

“We encourage groups to use the online application process, which lets you save your progress, attach documents and submit for approval when you are ready.”

There will be two rounds run in 2020/21, with categories as follows:

Community Support Grants

This category supports the delivery of programs, projects and activities that benefit residents of the shire with amounts available up to $4,000 per grant.

Event Grants

These grants aim to encourage and assist with community groups hosting local events. The maximum grants available per event are Community event $1,000; Significant event $5,000.

Guidelines are available from Council’s website as well as customer service centres. Groups needing assistance with their online application are encouraged to contact Bobbi Aitken on 1300 666 535.

Applications close Friday, 17 April at 5pm.

Following assessment of applications, those recommended for approval will be considered at the June Council meeting. Funds will be presented to successful groups in July 2020.
