Fossicking General Permission Areas (GPA's) Closures

Following the Queensland Government announcement on Monday 30 March in relation to the closure of all Fossicking General Permission Areas (GPA’s), in response to the COVID-19 (corona virus) outbreak. Council is now required to close GPA’s which we have tenure of within the Region on State land until further notice. This includes sites the below fossicking areas outlined below:

Flat Diggings GPA, Clermont Black Ridge GPA, Clermont Town Reserve GPA, Clermont Museum Reserve GPA, Clermont

Council is closely monitoring the current COVID-19 pandemic and implementing responses in accordance with Federal and State Government guidelines. It is the intent of Council to take reasonable precaution in a reasonable manner to ensure that the potential and actual risks relating to the transmission of the COVID-19 virus are managed effectively, efficiently and transparently.
