Tourism Events Autumn + Winter 2020 guide released

Published on 26 February 2020

The 2020 Autumn + Winter edition of the Gannawarra’s tourism and events brochure is now available.

The brochure highlights close to 50 community events occurring throughout the Gannawarra between March and August.

The brochure also promotes regular monthly events including parkrun sessions at Cohuna and Kerang, and community markets at Cohuna, Kerang and Murrabit.

“Whether it is Easter activities, sporting events, arts performances or community celebrations, the Tourism Events Autumn + Winter calendar has something for everyone,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.

“The first event highlighted occurs on Sunday, 1 March with the AWMA Water Control Solutions Cohuna Bridge to Bridge, a ride-run-walk event that raises money for the Cohuna District Hospital, with the other major event occurring in March being the Sydney Harbour Kayaks-managed Black Swan Paddling Race, a 46-kilometre canoe, kayak and SUP race from Gunbower to Cohuna on Saturday, 28 March.

“Meanwhile, numerous events are scheduled to occur throughout the Gannawarra during the Easter period when the region experiences an influx of visitors.”

Copies of Tourism Events Autumn + Winter are available from Council’s Customer Service Centres at Cohuna and Kerang, the Gateway to Gannawarra Visitor Centre at Cohuna and numerous tourism facilities located throughout the Gannawarra. The brochure can also be downloaded online at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/whatson

“Local event organisers are encouraged to take advantage of this free advertising opportunity and submit their event details to www.gsc.vic.gov.au/add_your_event by 29 June to be considered for the next edition of this popular brochure,” Mayor Learmonth said.
