Launching the Share Plte Cookbook - A Collection of Recipes from our Community to your Table

25 November 2019

A new cookbook called The Share Plate is being launched by Greater Dandenong Council next week, promising a celebration of food, cultural diversity and community.

The book, created in partnership with the Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre, Wellsprings for Women, Monash Health, Dandenong Neighbourhood House and Chisholm, features 24 recipes from the Greater Dandenong community.

The Share Plate was created with funding support from the Victorian State Government.

Greater Dandenong Mayor Councillor Jim Memeti said the cookbook was a fantastic way to showcase the city’s vibrancy and diversity.

“This book was created following extensive community consultation,” Cr Memeti said.

“It is a collection of recipes from our community to your table and is a true celebration of food and culture.”

The Share Plate will be available to borrow from Greater Dandenong Libraries and will be submitted into both the State Library and National Library collections.

The cookbook will be launched on Thursday 28 November at Dandenong Library at 6.30pm.
