20 November 2019 - Media release

Our beautiful region is on display with the free 2020 #MyCampaspe calendar out now.

The 14 amazing photos featured in the calendar were submitted by locals and visitors as part of the annual photo competition.

This year Campaspe Shire Council received around 180 entries which made selecting the winning photos a very hard task.

Judges were looking for creative photographs that celebrate the character of the region and the people who live here or visit it.

The winning photos were put up on council’s Facebook page and voted on to see who would win the honour of featuring on the cover.

This year, Amee Hardess’ photo titled ‘Autumn fall and little cowgirl boots’ took out the top prize with 175 votes.

Gone are the days where good entries are taken only on expensive SLR cameras. Many photos, including some of the winning shots, were taken on mobile phones, action cams, drones, mirrorless and point and shoot cameras.

Council has been releasing the calendars since 2012 as a way to celebrate the beautiful local scenery and the people that enjoy it.

The calendar outlines key dates including public holidays, local events, school terms, days of recognition, grants and other application dates and council meetings.

Community demand for the calendars has increased each year with many people sending copies to family and friends overseas as Christmas presents.

Copies are now available from all council customer service centres, Campaspe libraries and other council facilities.
