Posted on October 16, 2019

From horticulture to information technology, eight exciting traineeship positions are now up for grabs with the Central Highlands Regional Council.

The annual program is co-funded by the Department of Education and Training’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work First Start initiative.

‘Whether you are fresh out of school, looking to re-enter the workforce or just wanting to expand your skills, these positions are an opportunity to embark on a fulfilling career with local government,’ CEO Scott Mason said.

‘Council is a unique employer, offering more than 400 occupations and career stability that’s transferable throughout Australia.

‘Once you’re employed with us, we want to keep you. So, we also offer opportunities like further training, study time and attendance at industry conferences and forums.’

Mr Mason said all successful applicants would earn while they learn, gaining a nationally recognised qualification in their field.

‘Anyone who is interested in these positions can find out more about each one on council’s website www.centralhighlands.qld.gov.au, as well as eligibility criteria and applications forms,’ he said.

Applications must be received by midday on Monday 4 November 2019.
