If you’re looking for free activities for your little ones over the school holidays, look no further than the Ararat Regional Library.

The library will hold four different activities over the holidays, covering topics including shipwrecks and Lego.

Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the library, which holds activities most school holidays, is encouraging the region’s young people to visit.

“The library always has great activities on during the school holidays so it’s well worth a visit to see what’s on offer,” he said.

The activities are:

Shipwrecked! With the National Maritime Museum – on every day during the holidays. Check out the display space where you can learn about Australian shipwrecks. Egg Carton Boat Craft – Wednesday 25 September. Make your own boat out of egg cartons. This craft station will be available from 11am to 2pm. Board game fun – Tuesday 1st October from 1pm to 4pm. Come and play board games at the library – use the ones provided or bring your own. Library Lego sessions – Thursday 26 September from 2pm to 4pm, and Friday 5 October all day. Limited places, reservations required. Strictly for ages 4 and up. Phone the library on 5352 1722 or email [email protected] to book.

The Ararat Regional Library is open from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 10am to 5pm Friday, and 9am to 12pm Saturday.
