Gympie Regional Council is inviting not-for-profit community organisations and clubs to participate in free training on project planning and getting grants.

The session will be held on Wednesday 25 September from 5.30pm to 8.30pm at the Gympie Civic Centre, 32 Mellor Street, Gympie. The workshop will provide real-life success stories and share the possible pitfalls community groups often find themselves in.

It aims to help organisations to:

plan better projects know where to look for funding know how to budget correctly understand funding criteria deliver successful project outcomes for its members.

Councillor Dan Stewart said this workshop will help local, community-based organisations gain first-hand knowledge on how to properly plan projects for better grant application outcomes. “Community groups often provide activities and services that are responsive to community needs and wants more efficiently than Council could. This is one way for Council to support community groups to be even more effective,” he said.
