A mobility scooter, hot water services, a tow-behind road broom and 2007 Isuzu medium truck with purpose-built tray are some of the interesting items that will be on offer when Ararat Rural City Council conducts an online auction of surplus items next week.

Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the annual online auction has been held the past two years and has been very popular, with people from across the state picking up a bargain.

Dr Harrison said the goods auctioned include surplus items from the Works Depot, which are all auctioned online by Grays Online.

The auction will run from Thursday August 15 at 4pm to Wednesday August 21 at 8pm, with some of the other items including:

A large amount of used grader blades; High bay lights; Brake drums; Office furniture; A large amount of assorted tools and parts; and, Assorted as new tyres.

Members of the public can inspect the goods on one day only – Monday August 19 from 10am-2pm – at the Works Depot, 24 Flattely Street, Ararat.

Ararat Rural City Council will have a direct link to the auction on its website www.ararat.vic.gov.au as well as photos of some of the items. Bidding for items can only be done online.
