Wyndham City 7 Aug 2019

A green space in the heart of the Werribee City Centre is well on its way to becoming an events and recreation hub.

Works to redevelop Wyndham Park are progressing well, and are on track for a late 2019 completion.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Mia Shaw, said the $13 million Wyndham City project would transform the park into a buzzing space for the entire community to enjoy.

“This $13 million Wyndham City project will see the park become home to a large space to host events, play spaces, seating, rest areas, toilets, barbecues, shelters, and drinking fountains,” Cr Shaw said.

“Cycling and walking paths will also be improved as part of this project, and lighting will be increased and upgraded to improve perceptions of safety.”

“August will be a busy month for this project, with the adventure play tower being installed at the park. I have no doubt that this will be one of the most popular attractions of the new and improved Wyndham Park.”

“In November, we’re looking forward to the artwork being installed onsite. This will be a key feature of the park, paying tribute to the local area.”

“We are opening up views of the park, so the residents and visitors can make the most out of this beautiful asset, increasing visitation as a part of our mission to make the Werribee City Centre more vibrant.”

Works are expected to wrap up in late 2019.
