Western Downs Regional Council is inviting local businesses to attend free information events across the region to discuss working together in the future.
Chinchilla, Miles, Tara and Dalby will host Council’s Local Procurement Roadshow in August, which will provide opportunities for tradies and local businesses to find out the process of working with Council.
The events will provide information on Council’s procurement process, including quotes, tenders and other paperwork.
Spokesperson for Economic Development, Councillor Donna Ashurst, is excited at the prospect of working with local business owners in the future.
“Living and buying local is something that is very important to Council, and we want to take every opportunity to work with local businesses for all of our future projects,” she said.
“These events will provide local businesses with the chance to find out about upcoming possibilities to do business with Council across a wide range of areas.
“By hosting this Roadshow, we’re inviting all our local businesses to think about what they have to offer Council and also remind our communities that we do want to do business with them, whenever possible.”
Developing working relationships with local businesses is a win-win as it supports local economic growth and improves liveability of the Western Downs region.
