Forget Sesame Street, there’s a street in Frankston vying to be named the best street in town.

Whether it’s the most attractive, sustainable, tidy or friendly street, your street could take the title as part of Frankston City Council’s Best Street Awards.

Celebrating community connectivity and involvement, the competition aims to recognize the winning street with an exclusive Best Street street sign and photoshoot to feature in the Frankston City News.

Nominee finalists will also be invited to an award ceremony.

Frankston City Mayor Michael O’Reilly said the Best Street Award was a great way to support the council plan objective for vibrant and engaged communities.

“It ticks all the boxes when it comes to enhancing pride and responsibility for the appearance of our streets as well as promoting better connectedness between the people who live in them,” the Mayor said.

If you think your street adds value to the community and the environment as well as being friendly and connected, you can download a nomination form from frankston.vic.gov.au/Our_Community/Awards/Best_Street_Awards and tell us in 250 words or less, why your street is the best.

Entries can focus on the following judging criteria: neighbourliness, friendliness and connectedness, appearance and presentation, environmental sustainability and community involvement.

Email your completed nomination form and supporting documentation using the subject heading ‘Community Street’ to: [email protected].

Hard copies are available at all Council Customer Service Centers.

Entries are open now and close at 5pm on Friday 23 August, 2019.
