Burdekin Shire Council is currently seeking applications to fill the role of Water and Wastewater Coordinator – Network Operations.

The Position

Council’s Water & Wastewater focusses on customer service, with safety as a critical element of its operations. We are working towards higher levels of performance through implementation of extensive asset management and quality document systems, increased application of technology and workforce structure and training.

In this is a new position the Coordinator will assist the Manager Water & Wastewater in modernising operations in sewerage and water schemes, whilst providing leadership to the employees in this area. It presents an opportunity for a motivated person with extensive experience as a coordinator to assist mapping and refining the operation of the business with robust support as part of a committed and progressive management and administration team.

The Person

The successful applicant will be responsible for the coordination of the water and sewerage network operations, including the civil construction crew. This will require considerable skills in costing and budgeting, using corporate software and the Microsoft suite of software. They will also work with management to develop and implement staff training, structural reviews and quality documentation, including procedures, operational plans and asset management plans. The role will offer the opportunity to exercise skills in leading the development of permanent solutions to problems and coordinating the projects implementing those solutions. Sound technical logic, along with competence in management and administration systems and good leadership skills will be crucial to success in this role.

The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 5 ($85,321pa) with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
