Classic hits of the world’s great tenors and their leading ladies over the past 100 years will fill Innisfail’s The Con Theatre next Saturday (June 29) with a spectacular evening’s entertainment from two of Australia’s great singers.

Star tenor Roy Best and international soprano Alison Jones will perform ‘Caruso to Carreras… The Great Tenors and Their Leading Ladies’, a slick tribute presented by the Cassowary Coast Regional Council and Promac Productions Australia.

Mr Best and Ms Jones will be accompanied by pianist Len Vorster as they perform famous tenor and soprano songs and arias from the legends of the stage.

Director Christopher McKenna will compere the show and provide fascinating insight into the story of some of the greatest tenors the world has known – and, of course, their leading ladies.

Mr Best has performed with Opera Australia and Victorian Opera and has recorded albums for ABC Classics.

He will perform timeless hits from stars such as Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Mario Lanza, Jose Carreras, Enrico Caruso and Placido Domingo.

Ms Jones is one of Australia’s most versatile sopranos and has performed with Victorian Opera and Oz Opera. She will perform solos and duets with Mr Best.

The songs featured in the show will include Be My Love, O Solo Mio, Nessun Dorma, La Donna e Mobile, I’ll Walk With God, Bring Him Home, and many more, including wonderful duets Strangers In Paradise, Loveliest Night Of The Year and Sun and Moon.
