IN AN Australian first, the inaugural Outback Queensland Masters tees off in just two weeks spanning across six locations: Roma, Charleville, Longreach, Winton, Boulia and culminating in Mount Isa with the million dollar hole-in-one.

The event is for the amateur golfer, social player or a first-time swinger, encouraging visitors and locals to grab their clubs, with competitors needing to play at least two other courses in the outback first to participate in the one million dollar hole-in-one.

Golf Australia's Queensland manager Luke Bates said the initiative is to encourage visitors to spread the economic benefit to as much of the outback as possible, while experience some incredibly unique locations, golf courses and outback Queensland hospitality.

"We're encouraging visitors to adventure Outback during an incredible array of experiences and events, including Midnight Oil live at the Big Red Bash in Birdsville, cinema under the stars at Winton's Outback Festival and the famous Boulia Camel Races - just to name a few,” he said.
