Apply now for Round 3 RADF funding

Applications are now being taken for Round 3 of the Balonne Shire Council Regional Arts Development Fund Community Grants program.

Applicants will have until 5pm Monday 17 June 2019 to submit their funding requests.

Successful applicants in Round 2 were:

St George Art Group – Simplifying figures in your paintings Dirranbandi Progress Association – Water Tower Project Two-day quilting workshop in Mungindi Thallon Progress Association – Recycled Metal Sculpture Workshop Maranoa Performing Arts – Two-day choreography workshop – Country Choreography

Mayor Richard Marsh congratulated all the successful applicants.

“These events help bring our communities together and provide important creative outlets for residents,” he said.

“I look forward to seeing some of the results of these funded activities.”

Queensland Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch said investing in creative and cultural experiences through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) strengthened regional communities, boosted cultural tourism, and enhanced the quality of life in rural and remote towns and cities.

“RADF is a unique partnership between the Queensland Government and Balonne Shire Council to support local talent, unite communities and celebrate the arts across the state,” Ms Enoch said.

“The Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, is contributing $2.08 million in 2018-19 in partnership with 58 councils statewide to help deliver cultural experiences which align with local priorities.”
