Our Vacancy

We are seeking a Ganger Construction and Maintenance (C&M) based at the Mount Molloy depot who will assist in the delivery of road maintenance and construction activities within the Mareeba Shire. The position is a hands on role and provides day to day operational direction and supervision to a small team to produce an efficient and effective C&M service delivery. This position will primarily be based at Mount Molloy however may be required to undertake work at various locations throughout the shire.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in road maintenance and construction procedures and supervising a small work group, the ability to problem solve and work towards deadlines and will have basic computer skills.

The position calls for physically demanding work to be undertaken in a hot and humid climate on a day to day basis. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to ensure they are physically fit and able to efficiently and consistently undertake these tasks. Council may require applicants to undergo a full physical pre-employment medical examination which includes drug and alcohol testing during the recruitment process. Maintenance of a safe working environment and application of correct manual handling techniques are mandatory requirements for this position.
