Gladstone Regional Council wishes to advise the bushfire benefit concert Band Together planned for Saturday 23 February has been rescheduled due to the threat of Tropical Cyclone Oma and associated high tides, strong winds and rainfall.

Band Together and the bushfire community debriefs will now be held on Saturday, 13 April.

Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said while it was unfortunate that we’ve had to reschedule the events, our community’s safety is our top priority.

“All of the event details for the bushfire benefit concert will remain the same, with Adam Harvey still headlining and local bands Beautifully Broken 1770 and Kissing the Flint supporting,” Councillor Burnett said.

“We’ve spoken with Adam Harvey today and he is very excited to band together with our community and said he’ll see us in six weeks.

“The times and venues for the bushfire debrief sessions planned for Agnes Water and Wartburg will remain the same also.”

Councillor Burnett encourages members of the community to keep up-to-date on TC Oma via the RegionWatch platform.

“You can visit RegionWatch to view flood cams for Alligator Flats, east of Miriam Vale, and Essendean Bridge and Hills Road in the Baffle Creek area,” he said.

Council advises all residents to stay off the roads during inclement weather and reminds the community that - 'if it's flooded, forget it'.
