Grow Your Business forum Friday 15 February

Are you wanting to gear up your business? If so, East Gippsland Shire Council has some ideas at the ready to help you achieve just that.

Council will present its 2019 Grow Your Business Forum on Tuesday, February 26 with a range of guest presenters covering finance, mentoring, social media and becoming an inclusive employer.

Mayor Cr Natalie O’Connell said the forum provides local businesses and employers with an opportunity to gain some insight, resources and ideas on how to take the next step when looking to expand their business.

“Key themes will include how to gear up your business to become an inclusive employer, business mentoring and business finance, while there will also be opportunities for making new networking connections,” Cr O’Connell said.

“The line-up of guest speakers includes Steve Ronalds (Gippsland Jersey), Jaime Savory (Gippsland Finance Solutions) and representatives from Small Business Mentoring Services (Helen Ward), Melbourne Innovation Centre (Vivien Vo) and Grow Gippsland Latrobe Valley Authority (Jeanie Hall).

“Steve will speak about Gippsland Jersey’s crowd funding campaign to raise $100,000 to purchase its own milk processing plant, and the local company’s social media story, while Jaime will share her tips on how businesses can succeed.”

“Workways Australia chief executive officer Bryan McCormick will discuss what resources, funding and assistance is available for employers looking to expand their business by taking on an employee with a disability.” 

The forum will be held at the Federation Training lecture theatre at 48 Main Street, Bairnsdale, from 8.30am to 1pm. For anyone wanting to expand their business opportunities book through the Try Booking website. The forum cost is $25 per head.

The Grow Your Business Forum is coordinated by Council’s Economic Development Team. 

Vivien Vo, Helen Ward, Jaime Savory, Bryan McCormick, Jeanie Hall, Vanessa Medling (MC) and Steve Ronalds (top) will be among the guest speakers at the Grow Your Business forum.
