The Be Connected eSafety educational program is delivered through a series of free online presentations designed to help Australians stay safer online. Course material is reviewed regularly to ensure content is up-to-date, and new topics are released throughout the year.

The program was developed in response to research by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner, which showed that many older Australians are keen to develop new digital skills, but want help addressing online safety concerns to build their trust and confidence.

Be Connected is a learning site that offers free courses on a wide range of topics designed to help Australians learn new skills - everything from how to access the internet, use a device, keep in touch with others online, or learn some fun hobbies such as researching family history.

The eSafety presentations are suited to a broad range of skill levels, from absolute beginners to those more confident with digital technology, and cover topics such as common scams and how to spot them, how to shop and pay for things safely online, how to do everyday banking online, and how to connect safely via Facebook.

The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is responsible for promoting online safety to all Australians, helping them have safer, more positive experiences online. Through its educational presentations, the Office aims to empower Australians with the knowledge and confidence to get online and safely enjoy all the benefits the internet has to offer.
