Sunday, February 10, 8:30pm – Monday, February 11, 2019, 3am Brisbane City Council is helping residents build their flood resilience. Every year Brisbane has large storms that bring heavy and sudden rainfall. Although we can’t control the weather, we can control the way we respond as a community and how we prepare our homes for these events. The Flood Hub showcases how design (construction methods, style of home, flooring, walls, electrical, plumbing) and building material choice can help Brisbane residents improve their flood resilience. Flood resilience is the ability to prepare for, live through and then return to normal household routines following a flood with the least amount of disruption. Come and see how you can mitigate the impacts of flooding on your home. There will also be a free sausage sizzle and giveaways to help residents be prepared for severe weather and stay safe all year round. Location: Flood Hub across from 15 Bamboo Street Venue address: Elizabeth Bruce Playground Park, 38 Bamboo Street, Inala Venue: Elizabeth Bruce Playground Park, Inala Event type: Free, Green Cost: Free Age: All ages Bookings: No bookings required.
