Nine Perfect Strangers tops Kingston’s favourite books for 2018

Liane Moriarty’s Nine Perfect Strangers tops the list as the most borrowed book from Kingston City Libraries last year.
According to Kingston Libraries’ Collection Coordinator Barrie Gillespie, 2018 borrowing results highlight a diversity of tastes among Kingston City’s readers.
“In 2018, we saw a mix of comedies and thrillers top the most popular adult fiction list; self-help books were among the most-borrowed adult non-fictions and Jeff Kinney’s The Getaway was the most popular junior fiction title,” said Mr Gillespie. “This has been the second year in a row we’ve seen The Barefoot Investor top the Non-Fiction list.”
Barrie’s top picks for 2019 include Graeme Simsion’s The Rosie Result, Dervla McTiernan’s The Scholar, Mark Brandi’s The Rip and J. P. Pomare’s Call me Evie. “Call me Evie has just been released, keep an eye out for these other titles which are being released soon by best-selling authors,” he said.
More than 650,000 people visited Kingston Libraries in 2017-2018. “This was an increase of more than 100,000 visitors from the year before, which indicates the important place libraries hold within the Kingston community,” said Mr Gillespie.
