Street markets and roadworks will cause road closures throughout Hobart during October. You can view the full list of road closures on the Temporary Road Closures page, but some of the notable closures include:

Anglesea Street and Denison Street, South Hobart

Pursuant to Section 25(1) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Anglesea Street between Hennebry Street and Macquarie Street will be closed to traffic from 7 am Monday 8 October to 4.30 pm Thursday 1 November 2018. Denison Street will be closed between Hennebry Street and Macquarie Street from 7 am Monday 15 October to 4.30 pm Sunday 9 November 2018 for constructing a new pedestrian crossing.

Bathurst Street, Hobart

Bathurst Street between Campbell Street and Brooker Avenue will be closed to traffic for service installation and road works from:  

8 pm Wednesday 31 October to 6 am Thursday 1 November 2018 8 pm Thursday 1 November to 6 am Friday 2 November 2018 8 pm Monday 5 November to 6 am Tuesday 6 November 2018 8 pm Tuesday 6 November to 6 am Wednesday 7 November 2018 8 pm Wednesday 7 November to 6 am Thursday 8 November 2018 8 pm Thursday 8 November to 6 am Friday 9 November 2018 8 pm Friday 9 November to 5 am Saturday 10 November 2018 Bathurst Street, Hobart

Bathurst Street between Barrack Street and Molle Street will be closed to south bound traffic from Monday 22 October 2018 to Friday 2 November 2018 from 7 am to 4 pm on weekdays and 6 am to 5 pm on weekends for reseal preparation works.

Weld Street, South Hobart 

Weld Street between Macquarie Street and Adelaide Street will be closed to traffic from 7 am to 4 pm daily Monday to Friday and 6 am to 5 pm Saturdays and Sundays from Monday 22 October 2018 to Sunday 11 November 2018 for constructing new pedestrian crossings.

Campbell Street, Hobart

Pursuant to Section 25(1) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Campbell Street between Liverpool Street and Collins Street will be closed to traffic from 5 am on Saturday 10 November 2018 till 8 am Sunday 11 November 2018 for the purpose of conducting gas works and crane lifting works for the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Murray Street, Hobart

Pursuant to Section 19(1)(b) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Murray Street between Collins Street and Macquarie Street will be closed to traffic from 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday 11 November 2018 for the purpose of conducting the Armistice Street Party, Sound of Peace.

Allison Street, West Hobart

Pursuant to Section 25(1) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Allison Street between Lansdowne Crescent and Blackwood Avenue will be closed to traffic from 7 am to 4 pm daily from  Monday to Friday starting Monday 5 November 2018 to Thursday 29 November 2018 due to stormwater works.

Hillborough Road, South Hobart

Pursuant to Section 25(1) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Hillborough Road from number 48 to Huon Road will be closed to traffic from 7.30 am to 4.30 pm on Sunday 11 November 2018 for conducting TasNetworks infrastructure maintenance works.

Argyle Street, Hobart

Pursuant to Section 19(1)(b) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Argyle Street between Davey Street and Macquarie Street will be closed to traffic from 6 pm to midnight on Monday 26 November 2018 for removing an exhibition.

Morrison Street and Argyle Street

Pursuant to Section 19(1)(b) of the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982, notice is given that Morrison Street and Argyle Street between Elizabeth Street and Davey Street will be closed to traffic from 6 pm to 9.30 pm on Friday 30 November 2018 for conducting the Mawson Place Tree Lighting Event.

Collins Street, Hobart

Collins Street between Campbell Street and Sun Street will be closed to eastbound traffic from 7 am Saturday 13 January 2018 to 6 pm Thursday 29 August 2019 for building construction works.

Regular closures

Bathurst Street (between Murray Street and Elizabeth Street) and Criterion Street are closed from 6 am - 3 pm every Sunday for the Farm Gate Market.

Salamanca Place is closed to traffic each Saturday from 5.30 am to 6 pm for the Salamanca Market. More information can be found here: Salamanca Market website
