Contractors will begin a program of remedial and surface upgrade works on several pedestrian and cycle pathways in Boyne Island and Gladstone on October 4.

Works will start in Boyne Island, beginning with the path between Olunda Street Park and the sewer treatment plant access road on the Boyne Smelters Limited pathway.

They will then proceed to Hampton Drive (adjacent to John Oxley Bridge) and culminating at the pathway that runs from Jacaranda Drive to Tarcoola Drive via Bluewater Drive.

The Boyne Island works are expected to take four days to complete and then contractors will start the Gladstone stage of the project on the Dawson Highway pathway extending from Philip Street to the Homemaker Centre (Bunnings).

Works will then continue at the Bicentennial Pathway adjacent to the Esplanade at Barney Point and the pathway adjacent to the Webb Park dogs exercise area, stretching from Palm Drive and Blain Drive.

The Gladstone program of works is also expected to take eight days to complete.
