Successful grant recipients announced

A sculpture exhibition, motor festival and International Women’s Day celebration are just a few of the initiatives Council will invest in through its Events and Festivals Grant Program and Community Funding Scheme during 2018/19.

This year Council received 74 applications in total for the grant programs, with 51 initiatives successful in receiving a share of $181,975.

Events and Festivals Grant Program successful initiatives include:

Carlsruhe Fire Brigade Wine & Food Festival Kyneton 'Long' Lunch International Women's Day Dinner Malmsbury Town Hall 150th Anniversary Celebration FriYay Feast Woodend Tony McManus Live Lauriston Gisborne Arts and Family Fun Fest Art in the Vines at Hanging Rock Winery Macedon Ranges Sustainable Living Festival Malmsbury Motor Festival Show & Shine 2018 Macedon Ranges Wine and Food Festival Budburst Woodend Armistice Day Re-Enactment Run the Rock at Hanging Rock Garden Lovers Fair Macedon Kyneton Agricultural Show Christmas in Romsey 2018 The Gisborne Christmas Festival Woodend Winter Arts Festival.

Projects funded by the Community Funding Scheme include:

Health and wellbeing program for tweens and parents in Gisborne Installation of storage shed for Newham Mechanics Institute Facility upgrades for Tylden Community Hall Equipment purchases for the new Kitchen Garden Cooking Program at Romsey Primary School Training and equipment purchases for Upper Campaspe Landcare group Shire-wide Babes & Picnics Program Mobile display screens for Macedon Ranges Arts Trail Dance therapy at Lauriston Hall New equipment for Kyneton Little Athletics Club New signage for Friends of Malmsbury & Environs Project Boardwalk revegetation for Macedon Villages Volunteers Training for not-for-profit groups at Woodend Neighbourhood House Online learning opportunities at U3A Kyneton.
