Find out about this year’s top children’s books Tuesday 31 July

Bairnsdale Library will host a judge for the Children’s Book of the Year Awards this Thursday, August 2.

The session is an opportunity to discuss this year’s best children’s books and learn more about the judging process.

Heather Zubek is the Victorian Judge for the awards, which are presented by the Children’s Book Council of Australia. Ms Zubek will discuss the 2018 Shortlist and Notable Books List.

This year’s Book Week theme is Find Your Treasure. Book Week will be held nationally from 17-24 August.

The afternoon will be broken into two sessions:

Books in the older and younger readers categories will be covered from 4.30 -5.30pm. The picture book and early childhood categories will be discussed from 5.30-6.30pm.

Registration and afternoon tea is available from 4pm.

These sessions will be of interest to teachers in all sectors, literacy coordinators, students, parents, librarians, authors, illustrators and the general public.
