Orielton Lagoon Loop – Shared Pathway
Sorell Council 5 Oct 2017

Work on stage 2 of the Orielton Lagoon Loop shared pathway are complete.

The green lines for stage 2 works on the attached map show the track continue along Shark Point Road through Miena Park to Montagu Street, and also from the Midway Point end of the Causeway to the end of Bay Road.

The pathway encourages active lifestyles for all ages and skill levels providing opportunities to walk, jog or cycle along the pathway.

A reminder to residents that the Orielton Lagoon Loop is a shared pathway used by many different groups. Dogs must be on lead whilst on the track at all times and dog faeces picked up and disposed of. We encourage all users to be respectful of others when using this community infrastructure.

This is a staged project and stage 3 works are dependent upon Council receiving and/or allocating future funding.

Council received a $50,000 contribution for construction of stage 1 works from The Tasmania Community Fund. This funding was matched by Council.

Council received a $100,000 contribution for construction of stage 2 works from The Tasmanian Government’s Community Infrastructure Fund. This funding was also matched by Council.
