The Moil shopping area is getting a much-needed facelift by City of Darwin, with works commencing from Tuesday, 27 April.

The $189,000 beautification program involves improvements and upgrades to pedestrian access, strengthened landscaping elements including new garden beds, tree planting, seating and tables.

Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said: “It is great to see the Moil shopping area receiving some upgrades.

“City of Darwin is focussed on delivering projects that enhance the liveability of our city to create a vibrant, cool and green environment we can all enjoy.”

Works will typically occur between 7.30am and 5pm. Pedestrian traffic will be redirected around areas during the works.

Construction will be completed by June 2021, weather permitting.
