Your Neighbourhood Budget 2019

Published on 19 August 2019

$40,000 is available to spend on projects in your neighbourhood. Tell us how you would spend it to benefit the Burnside community.

Have you ever thought of great and creative ideas that would improve your experience at your local park? Can you suggest improvements to community spaces or buildings in Burnside?

Council is seeking nominations from the community for projects and events in your neighbourhood. These projects and events will be installed and maintained or run by Council on community land such as parks, reserves, road verges and community centres in the City of Burnside.

Ideas can include water fountains, benches, gardens, rubbish bins, little libraries, picnic benches, bike racks, possum boxes, markets and workshops. Be creative - all suggestions are welcome.

The community decides what projects will get funded.

Criteria for projects have been prepared to give you a guide on what projects and events are eligible, and to ensure that Council will be able to install your idea. This guide can be found on engage.burnside.sa.gov.au

All eligible suggestions will be promoted on engage.burnside.sa.gov.au

The community will vote online for the projects that will be funded.

I have an idea. What do I do now?

Talk about your idea with Kelly Burns on 8366 4200.

Submit your ideas online via engage.burnside.sa.gov.au or email us at [email protected] and we can post or email you a suggestion form.

For more information about Your Neighbourhood Budget contact Council's Strategic Projects Officer, Kelly Burns, on 8366 4200.

Applications close at 5 pm on Friday 27 September 2019.

After applications close, Council will review all of the suggestions to ensure that the projects can be implemented on time, on budget, and meet the minimum criteria. Then the community will have the final say on how Your Neighbourhood Budget is allocated by voting for their preferred idea/s.

Voting will open 4 November 2019 and close 13 December 2019.
