From early July, current dog and cat registration renewal notices will be posted to owners within the Yorke Peninsula Council region. Dog registrations are mandatory within South Australia and must be registered by 3 months of ages, or within 14 days of possession. Cat registrations are free and strongly encouraged.

If you have not registered your furry friend, now is the perfect time. Head to www.dogsandcatsonline.com.au and follow the links to register.

Dog and cat owners will received their registration renewal notice in early July. This is the first time cat renewal registrations have been undertaken. Senior Compliance Officer, Phil Herrmann strongly encourages owners to check their contact information to assist Council to return lost and frightened pets as soon as possible.

Laws introduced from 1st July, 2018 made microchipping and desexing compulsory for pet owners. Currently, approximately 450 dogs across our region are still not microchipped.

As a gentle warning, from 1 July 2019 an audit will be conducted on dogs and cats that are not microchipped, and fines will be issued to owners that are not compliant.

Please be a responsible pet owner by registering, desexing and microchipping your beloved pet at one of your local veterinarian:
