Council is committed to maintaining roads in Tennant Creek and the communities of the Barkly region. Earlier this year Council put out a tender for a contractor to repair sealed roads in Alpurrurulam. Contract was awarded to Remote Civil Pty Ltd of Katherine, and workers started digging up roads and resealing them.
