Dob in a Dumper Logo Winners Announced

Winners of the Barkly Regional Council’s Dob in a Dumper logo Competition received their cash prizes and certificates at two ceremonies last week.

Dozens of entries from the community and schools in Tennant Creek, Mungkarta and Alpurrurulam flooded into reception at Council leaving the judges with the difficult task of choosing winners.

After much deliberation and discussion the following participants were selected with Jasper Barber winning the Community Prize ($250), Andrew Peckham winning the High School Prize ($250) and Mungkarta School winning the Primary School Prize.

Jasper and Andrew received their prize money of $250 each and a certificate by the Mayor Steve Edgington at a special ceremony at the Council Chambers on Thursday, 31 May.

The Mayor then travelled to Mungkarta School the following day to present their winning cheque of $250 and certificates to those children who took part in the logo competition.

“We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who participated and sent in their entries,” said the Mayor.

“It was hard to choose winners as there were so many excellent designs but in the end Andrew and Jasper’s work did stand out. We also felt that the entries from Mungkarta School stood out as a group.”

For the final logo Council joined the two winning designs by Andrew and Jasper so elements from both entries could be used. The final design will be up on the website soon.
