News: Territory Day Community Event Grants

The Territory Government is offering grants between $1000-$5000 to help Territorians celebrate Territory Day, their way

1 July will mark the 40th anniversary of the Northern Territory being granted Self-Government in 1978, under the Northern Territory (Self-Government) Act 1978. Territory Day celebrates everything we love about living in the Territory – the people, the landscape, the culture and our diverse communities. We encourage everyone to get involved, as it’s an important milestone in our history and forms part of the discussion for the future. This year the NTG is offering grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 to help Territorians celebrate Territory Day, their way. Any event or activity that celebrates living in the Territory, our history, our future, culture or community between 14 May and 3 September could be eligible. Grants are available for activities such as festivals, exhibitions, multicultural events, educational activities, community events and sporting or remote events. The deadline for grant applications is 9 March 2018 and can be submitted online.  Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their funding application by 9 April.
