The Victorian Government has changed the permit requirements for clearing vegetation near your home

But depending on where the vegetation is located, you made need a permit to remove it. The Victorian Government has recently changed the rules around when you need to get a permit to clear vegetation near your home, and these changes mean many homeowners in the Borough will need a permit to clear vegetation. Previously, property owners everywhere in Victoria could clear trees within 10 metres of their home or other vegetation within 30 metres of their home without needing a permit. To find out more about the Victorian Government's rule changes, visit: https://www.planning.vic.gov.au/policy-and-strategy/bushfire/your-property/vegetation-removal-for-bushfire-protection While these are Victorian Government rules, Council is happy to help you determine whether you need a permit to remove or trim vegetation near your home.
