Gannawarra Shire Council has confirmed its meeting structure for 2025.
Eleven scheduled meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of the month between February and December, with all meeting being held at the Kerang Senior Citizens Centre from 6pm.
“Council meetings, which are open to the public, highlight how your Councillors represent our communities when making key decisions that drive the future of the Gannawarra,” Mayor Garner Smith said.
“Our monthly meetings enable Councillors to consider and make decisions on matters of public interest, including, but not limited to, financial matters, planning, policies and projects.
“Building and enhancing connections between Council and our communities is important to my fellow Councillors and I, so we will endeavour to meet with residents across the Gannawarra during 2025 to discuss local matters. These gatherings may include informal meetings with community or listening post sessions, with details to be confirmed in the coming months.”
A meeting to elect Gannawarra Shire Council’s Mayor and Deputy Mayor for 2025/26 will occur between the October 2025 and November 2025 meetings, with the date to be determined.
Any changes to meeting arrangements, including the time and location of meetings, will be promoted via Council’s Facebook page, website, Gannawarra News and Gannawarra Connect publications.
For those unable to attend any of Council’s meetings, a video of proceedings will be available to view at www.gsc.vic.gov.au/meetings within 24 hours after the completion of the meeting.
