Pause for Poetry: Take the August Poetry Challenge
City of Fremantle 4 Aug 2022

August is Poetry Month and Fremantle Library is encouraging you to pause for a moment each day to get your verse on!

Be inspired and take the challenge

Make sure you like the Fremantle Library Facebook page for daily prompts to inspire your poetry creations. Whether it’s a long, short or miniscule poem, it doesn’t matter—just let the words flow!

Submit your poems to us via [email protected] or drop them into the Fremantle Library. One poem will selected for posting to our socials every day for the Fremantle community to enjoy.

Fremantle Library Poetry Prize

The Fremantle Library Poetry Prize will also continue, following its successful inauguration last year. At the end of August, we’ll ask you to submit your favourite from your prompted poems (or any other poem that you have written), and Freo Library staff will pick the winners of two great prizes: a $100 New Edition voucher for adults, and a $100 Paperbird voucher for kids.
