Roads Update – 26 May 2022
Kyogle Council News 26 May 2022

Council’s newly engaged pothole patching crew is working its way towards Bonalbo from Sandilands along the Clarence Way. Another crew is working its way along the Bruxner Highway. The other two pothole repair crews are working on the Summerland Way and Anzac Drive. They will then move to Wiangaree Back Road (gravel section while we wait for the next delivery of coldmix), Ettrick Road, Afterlee Road, Fawcetts Plain Road and Kyogle Road. We have had to return to Fawcetts Plain Road and Kyogle Road to repair newly formed potholes that have appeared since our last visit.

Council intends to start work next week to repair the badly scoured hill section of Theresa Creek Road near Dugans Road turnoff. Work to repair post flood drainage issues on Hillyards Road should be completed next week. The crew will then move to Boorabee Creek Road to clear landslips and address drainage issues.

Repairs to the Forest Road landslip will start on Tuesday next week. The job is expected to take a couple of weeks to complete. The road will remain closed during the remediation work.

The Lions Road is expected to open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY the middle of next week. There has been a significant amount of damage to the road due to landslips and it will open to just one lane of traffic in multiple locations. There will also be a two-tonne limit for vehicles using Lions Road beyond the Simes Road intersection. Council strongly urges motorist to continue using the Summerland Way route when travelling to and from Queensland.
