Get involved in your city

Council is still searching for volunteers to serve Broken Hill on a number of Section 355 Committees.

Section 355 Committees control a number of key functions for the city, including management of halls and facilities, recreation grounds, event management, and providing advisory services to Council.

Mayor Tom Kennedy said Committees were an important avenue for locals to give back to their community whilst also providing guidance and feedback for Council.

"One of our main visions as a Council is to get the community back involved in running our city, and committees are a great way for locals to have input and make a difference" he said.

"I've served on countless committees both inside and outside of Council and it's an extremely rewarding experience for a very small outlay of time.

"There are a lot Committees still seeking members, so if you see an area where you think you could make a difference for Broken Hill please apply online or contact Council staff.
