Join in one of the free playgroups that take place weekly across Fremantle during school terms! 

Meet other local young families in the area, while developing and building your child's social and literacy skills. 

From Storytime in the picturesque galleries of Fremantle Arts Centre to a long-time community favourite playgroup known as Buster, these sessions are sure to keep your little ones engaged. 

Buster at Fremantle Arts Centre

Wednesdays, 9.30–11.30am | Free

Play and explore in the beautiful front gardens at Fremantle Arts Centre.

Buster is a free, multi-sensory, hands-on active and child centred program that has been running in Fremantle for over 35 years!

The program offers creative and fun opportunities for families to learn and play together, with the bus travelling around to different Fremantle locations across the year. 

Activities are suitable for kids 0–5 years but all ages are welcome.

Buster at Fremantle PCYC

Fridays, 9.30–11.30am | Free

Everyone’s favourite early childhood program Buster heads to Fremantle PCYC on Friday mornings during school terms.

Meet other young families in the area, while kids play and explore with the many toys and activities.

Activities are suitable for kids 0-5 years but all ages are welcome.

Fremantle PCYC is also home to the Fremantle Toy Library, where you can hire over 1,900 toys! It’s the more sustainable and affordable way to keep playtime fun.

Buster at Walyalup Koort

Saturday 28 May + Saturday 11 June, 9.30–11.30am | Free

Enjoy these special Buster sessions at Walyalup Koort!

Toys and activities will be set up on the grassed area, while the all-new Fremantle Library and the Walyalup Koort Playground await just metres away to keep the fun going afterwards.  

These sessions are suited for kids 0-8 years but all ages are welcome.

Rhymetime at Fremantle Library

Tuesdays, 9.30–10am | Free

Meet new friends and enjoy fantastical tales and uproarious rhymes together in the all-new Fremantle Library.

These fun sessions are suited for children up to two years of age and their parents.

Storytime at Fremantle Library

Thursdays, 9.30–10am | Free

Join in on the Storytime fun at the new Fremantle Library Kids Zone complete with a slide!

These sessions are suited for kids aged 2-5 years old and their parents or guardians to promote and encourage early literacy.

Storytime at Fremantle Arts Centre

Fridays, 10–10.30am | Free

Head along to Fremantle Arts Centre for Storytime – a perfect introduction to the galleries for young children and families.

These fun and engaging sessions are presented by a lively storyteller and feature a new book each week with sing-alongs and a craft activity.
