Vital upgrades to local roads across the Macedon Ranges Shire

Liberal Candidate for McEwen, Richard Welch, announced today that if re-elected, a Morrison Government would provide more than $8.5 million for much needed upgrades to local roads across the Macedon Ranges including:

Park Lane, Lancefield Gordon Crescent, Romsey Reynolds Grove, Romsey Murphy Street, Romsey Hamilton Road, New Gisborne Richardson Street, Riddells Creek

Mayor Cr Jennifer Anderson thanked the Federal Coalition Government for this funding commitment and said today’s announcement included a number of priority local road projects identified by Council and the community.

“These important road upgrades would be very welcome contributions. We are acutely aware there are many local roads across the shire in need of improvement. Receiving this additional commitment means our ratepayer funds can go further,” she said.

CEO Bernie O’Sullivan said this is great news for the shire, as with the population expected to continue growing, so too does the strain on our local roads.

“It is important we keep working to support priority local road improvements, which will make a big difference to our local communities,” he said.

Today’s commitment builds on the Coalition’s investment to support local road improvements, including more than $15.25 million committed to Macedon Ranges Shire Council under the Roads to Recovery program and the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program.
