Foreperson Construction & Maintenance (Western Crew)

This Foreperson Construction & Maintenance (Western Crew) is responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of construction and maintenance projects within the works program for Council’s Western Construction & Maintenance crew. The position will predominantly be required to supervise works programs located in the western vicinities of the Shire between Dimbulah, Chillagoe to the western boundary of the Shire and will involve regularly working and camping in remote locations. The position may also be required to work in other areas of the Shire when needed.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in road construction and maintenance, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to organise works effectively and previous supervisory experience is essential for this role. The successful candidate must be willing to camp in remote locations on a regular basis for sometimes an extended period.

The position of Foreperson Construction and Maintenance is broad banded as a Grade 2 (spanning between LGOA Level 3 to 4). Employees appointed to this position will have the opportunity to advance based on skills, competence, qualifications and experience.

The level of salary for the incumbent of this position will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate and will be determined at conclusion of the recruitment process.

Benefits of this position:

Permanent, full time position Starting salary level for this position spans between LGOA Level 3 ($2,602.92 per fortnight) to LGOA Level 4 ($2,866.62 per fortnight), depending on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate Industry Allowance of $55.50 per fortnight + other allowances such as Camp Allowance as applicable Up to 12% superannuation 5 weeks of annual leave Rostered Day Off every fortnight
