Anzac Day Ceremonies and Council Services and Facilities Operating Hours

Council would like to inform Moree Plains residents of the following events happening around the Shire on Anzac Day, Monday 25 April: (Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to an event’s start time)

Moree Dawn Service – Memorial Window, Moree Services Club

Meeting on Morton Street and starting at 5:50 am, a march will head towards the Moree Services Club. At 6 am, a dawn service will take place at the Memorial Window and breakfast will be provided at 7 am.

Moree Max Wales Memorial Park

A service will start at 9 am at the Max Wales Memorial Park on the western side of the Moree Services Club.

Moree Memorial Hall

At 9:30 am, a parade will assemble on Balo Street, between the Albert Street roundabout and Woolworths. During the march, a salute will take place in front of the RSL Museum/Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre on the way to the Memorial Hall. The main ceremony will take place at 10 am at the Memorial Hall and will be followed by morning tea.

Mungindi

A dawn service will be held at 5:45 am at the Mungindi RSL cenotaph. It will be followed by a free BBQ breakfast. For the day ceremony, a march will begin at 11 am at the RSL cenotaph. The march will start and finish in front of the cenotaph and will be followed by a commemoration service.

Pallamallawa

There will be a service at the Pallamallawa Memorial Hall at 5:30 am. Breakfast will be provided afterwards.

Boomi

A march will commence at 11 am at the old Post Office and is followed by a service at the Boomi Memorial Hall. Lunch will be provided at 12 pm.

Garah

At 9:30 am, a march will start at the Country Women's Association Hall and will head to the Garah Public Hall for wreath laying. Morning tea will follow at 10 am.

Crooble

A service will take place at the Crooble Memorial Hall at 8 am and will be followed by morning tea.

Council Services and Facilities Operating Hours

Unless otherwise noted below, Council’s services and facilities, including the Moree Customer Service Centre, will operate as normal until 5:00 pm Friday 22 April. Services and facilities will recommence as usual from Tuesday 26 April.

Please be advised kerbside garbage, recycling and organics collections will be as normal.
