The calendar features the Grenfell Commodities silo.

SMALL BUSINESS MONTH – GRENFELL FREE WORKSHOPS

As part of Small Business Month in 2022, Weddin Shire Council is hosting a number of FREE workshops for small business of all types.

Tuesday 1st March 2022. Instagram for Business workshop. 6pm Community Hub Building, 88 Main Street. Tuesday 8th March 2022. Grant writing workshop hosted by Regional Development Australia Central West. Venue will be The Collective 38 Main Street. Wednesday 16th March 2022. Industry Capability Network Gateway contractor workshop. 6pm in the Community Hub Building 88 Main Street. Tuesday 22nd March 2022 Flat Lay Photography workshop with Shani Nottingham from Rare Pear Studio. 6pm in the Community Hub Building 88 Main Street.

TAFE NSW are offering a fully Government Subsidised Fee Free Course* - Career Pathways and Employability Skills Statement of Attainment in Personal Budges and Planning for Financial Growth. More information regarding the course can be found on Council’s website 

HUNTERS BRIDGE REMEDIAL WORKS – HENRY LAWSON WAY (YOUNG RD)

Council advises that it will be undertaking remedial works on Hunters Bridge on Henry Lawson Way MR239 (Young Road). These works will be conducted under Traffic Control and a partial road closure will remain in place for the duration of the project. The works will commence from the week starting 10 January 2022 and it is anticipated they will continue until early March 2022, weather permitting.

All motorists should expect minor delays when travelling on Henry Lawson Way (Young Road), Tyagong Creek Hunters Bridge. Some noise and dust disturbance is expected due to the use of various plant and equipment onsite, however any impact to residents will be minimised where possible.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during the works period.

ADELARGO ROAD, WARRADERRY – CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Council advises that it will be undertaking culvert replacement works on Adelargo Road, approximately 600 m from Gooloogong Road. The works will commence approximately the week starting 1th February 2022 through to 30th April 2022, weather permitting. These works will be conducted under a full road closure at the culvert site. The closure will remain in place for the full duration of the works. Works will be undertaken between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.

All nearby residents and motorists on the Adelargo Road in the vicinity of the culvert will be detoured throughout the duration of the construction works via the detour signage. During this period, council will be undertaking culvert replacement works as this culvert was deteriorating and required immediate replacement.

Some noise and dust disturbance is expected due to the use of various plant and equipment on site, however any impact to residents will be minimised where possible.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused during the works period.

DRAFT POLICY MANAGEMENT AND USE OF RECYCLED WATER

A Draft Policy for Management and Use of Recycled Water has been developed as part of the documentation required for s.60 approval under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 for the use of Recycled Water in Grenfell.

The Draft Policy is currently on display for comment and can be viewed on Council's Public Exhibition webpage http://www.weddin.nsw.gov.au/council/public-exhibition.

Hardcopies of the Draft Policy will be available at Council’s Administration Office for residents to have a look.

Written submissions are invited and will be received up until 5:00pm on Tuesday, 8 March 2022.

GRENFELL AQUATIC CENTRE & QUANDIALLA SWIMMING CENTRE

Weddin Shire Council wishes to advise residents of Grenfell and Weddin Shire that the Grenfell Aquatic Centre will be closed for private Swimming Carnivals as below:

Wednesday 23 February 2022 - (HLHS carnival) Closed 9.00am till 3.00pm

Sunday 27 February 2022 – (Business House Relay) Closed 4.00pm onwards

The Quandialla Swimming Centre will be closed:

Saturday 19 February 2022 – (Quandialla Club Carnival)

Due to the current Covid restrictions, the public is advised to check with individual schools what their Covid restrictions are and if spectators are allowed entry.
