Liverpool City Library has started 2022 strongly, releasing a full program of activities for members of all ages in February including its annual Library Lovers’ Book Sale.

The book sale is held by Liverpool City Library each year to celebrate Library Lover’s Day, giving community members the opportunity to browse through hundreds of pre-loved books from all genres at bargain basement prices. Bibliophiles will have the opportunity to purchase items at 50 cents each or fill a bag for $5.

Mayor of Liverpool Ned Mannoun is encouraging residents to visit and reconnect with their local library in the new year.

“Whether you’re looking to grow your must-read pile, learn a new skill or inject some fun into your week, our libraries are the end destination,” Mayor Mannoun said.

“Throughout Liverpool, our Libraries are staffed by passionate people who put their all into building a program for kids, teenagers, adults and senior citizens to engage and educate you while leaving the door wide open for some fun along the way.”

"Our Libraries are much more than places to read and borrow books and are helping various members of the community navigate the ever-changing digital world.”

For instance, young coders can level up their skills as part of the Python Coding Dojo. In this inclusive club, they will meet with other coders and learn how to code in Python – a text-based coding language with real-world applications for coding.

For members who want to start with the basics, a visit to the Library on Tuesdays is a must with Tech Talk and TechHelp Tuesdays ramping up again. Each Tuesday, Tech Talk will unravel a new topic relating to the digital world from social media to online scams.

Meanwhile, TechHelp Tuesday allows members to book a half-hour appointment with library staff for personalised help with their technology troubles.

Liverpool City Library is also helping students embarking on their final year in high school to build strong habits and skills with its HSC Habits program kicking off in February. Across three workshops, experts will be sharing their tried and tested tips around study skills, emotional resilience and life after HSC.
