National Corrections Day

21 January, 2022

This Friday, 21 January 2022, will mark the fifth National Corrections Day. The day recognises NSW’s 10,000 corrections staff who work year-round with offenders to keep our community safe.

This year’s theme, Giving back, highlights the ways Corrective Services NSW staff go beyond the call of duty to protect the community, fundraise for important charities, volunteer and contribute to vital community projects and partnerships.

Mayor Maree Statham stated “We have Corrective Services NSW staff working in our community and we take this opportunity to acknowledge their dedication and contribution.”  The Mayor continued with; “Corrective Services NSW staff give back to their local communities, whether it is through volunteering for the local State Emergency or Rural Fire Service, coaching a local sporting team or raising funds for charity.”

“As Mayor of Lithgow, I wish to pass on my thanks and appreciation, and that of the local residents, to all of those Corrective Services NSW staff living and working in our great community. Happy National Corrections Day!” The Mayor concluded.
