Established and emerging artists of all ages are invited to submit entries across seven categories for the 2022 Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) Annual Art Awards – Springsure.
With more than $6,000 in this year’s prize pool, all artists from easel-based to digital art are encouraged to submit their work.
Each year, judges award the prestigious Central Highlands Regional Council Acquisitive Award of $2,000 to the most outstanding work from the first five categories.
Jemma Isherwood, winner of the Acquisitive prize at our recent CHRC Art Awards – Emerald, encourages anyone considering entering their artwork to give it a go as you never know what could happen.
“It was quite surprising to win the Acquisitive prize for my artwork, Too Much on her Plate,” Jemma said.
“Photography and digital art is a newer medium, and it is wonderful to see it recognised at this scale.”
“If you are thinking of submitting an art piece, treat the art gallery as a way to share your work, and its story with the wider community.”
Entries close Friday 4 February 2022 at 5.00 pm.
The exhibition with all competition entries will be open from Friday, 4 March 2022.
All artworks will be displayed at the Bauhinia Bicentennial Art Gallery – Springsure until Wednesday, 13 April 2022.
