Appointment to Cabinet

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman has been appointed by Premier Dominic Perrottet to his new cabinet as the Minister for Local Government.

Works progress

Murrumbateman Winery Trail – earthworks are continuing along the Crisps Lane and McIntosh Circuit section of pathway. Nanima Road Stage Two – works are progressing well and continuing on site. Shingle Hill Way bridge replacement – contractors are continuing with earthworks and piling. Bango Bridge replacement – contract awarded; work to commence early 2022. Morton Avenue – work is continuing on site. Cusack Place – works completed. Heavy patching is well underway and will be ongoing over the next few months. Additional works are underway on Murrumbateman Road. Fixing Local Roads Stage 2 road rehabilitations – Yass River Road is underway. Safety around Schools projects – Yass Public School design work is underway. Work will commence on the Berinba Public School connectivity upgrades and Sutton Public School refuge projects in early 2022. The two remaining projects are at the procurement stage. Contractor appointed to undertake upgrades on the Joe O’Connor Park carpark; work to be completed by early January. Preliminary work is underway on Back Creek Road. Preliminary work on Mulligans Flat Road and Murrumbateman Road are underway in preparation for safety upgrades.

Public Exhibition

Draft Yass Valley Development Contribution Plan Closing: 5:00 pm Friday, 28 January At the October 2021 meeting, Council resolved for the Draft Yass Valley development contributions plan to undergo public consultation. The main changes are to appendix A.

Annual Financial Statements 2020/21 The financial statements set out the financial performance, financial position and cash flows of Council for the financial year ended 30 June 2021.

Senior ICT Support Officer Closing: 5:00 pm Monday, 10 January The Senior ICT Support Officer provides information technology and communications support and advice to clients using Council's information systems, computers and telecommunications equipment, while supervising the ICT Support Officer and supporting the Manager ICT.

Grants Officer Closing: 5:00 pm Monday, 10 January To provide advice, professional guidance and support in relation to funding opportunities for Council, community groups or small businesses that contributes to the achievement of Council’s community strategic goals.

Horticultural Officer Closing: 5:00 pm Monday, 17 January The Horticultural Officer provides horticultural, recreational and turf management activities within the Council area. Support the horticultural supervisor in the safe and effective implementation of maintenance programs.
